ADOC and the other Italian Associations of Consumers, members of the Italian CNCU (National Council of Consumers), are organizing a strike against the growth of the cost of living. This time the spotlights are on some kinds of primary importance, like pasta, flour and bread. The associations invite all the consumers to boycott to buy these goods and to save on electric energy, gas and fuel during all the day of 18th of September.
All of us are agreed to underline the state of emergency about the continuing growth of prices, especially about food and energetic products. These elements are very important for every family and represent the most important and most relevant kinds that affect on the household budgets. Another important element to consider is that these kinds produce a serious damage on the economy of our countries. This years, we found an increase of the price of the 16% for a kilogram of bread, a 26% for a kilogram of pasta, and a liter of fuel costs 20% more respect the same period in 2007.
The Italian Associations of Consumers will not be alone in the strike, in fact, even the European Association of Consumer (ECO) will join it. The Italian Associations are proposing to the other European Associations to realize an alliance to transform the 18th of September in an economic turning point, where all the Europeans will be together to ask a common European strategy to defend the families’ purchasing power.
